James Laubinger
Jim has been in the CPA profession for more than 20 years and has always considered himself a bit of an outlier in terms of being a CPA.
"I have taken a non-traditional path," Jim says. "I have performed non-traditional services, and I challenged my associates to be non-traditional professionals. The company's tagline is Beyond CPAs. What does that mean, exactly? While partners in firms can fight over whose name is on the door, we have chosen to brand ourselves for the long term. When you look at Beyond CPAs, you are looking at a group of individuals who are willing to look at a client as a relationship and not as an invoice. We are looking for ways we can work with our clients as integral members of their teams, not just from the outside looking in.
When Jim is not busy crunching numbers and keeping his clients happy, the Illinois State alum (Go Redbirds!) can be found coaching both of his sons in baseball, enjoying (and yes, we said "enjoying") CrossFit and paddle tennis, and watching his beloved Chicago Cubs (his fourth best day ever after the births of his sons and marriage to Kim was witnessing in person the 2016 Cubs win the World Series for the first time in 108 years).

With a vast range of accounting and operations knowledge from nearly 20 years of experience in public accounting, as a controller and as a Chief Financial Officer, it is a given that Kim can handle your accounting needs. But she is also ready to take your company “Beyond CPAs.”
What does that mean, exactly?
Of course you expect that Kim and her team can deliver your tax returns and have your numbers packaged up in for you in a complete financial statement, but she can also assist you in your long-term financial planning to ensure that your company reaches its maximum potential - both in finance and operations.
After graduating from Augustana College (Go Augie!), Kim immediately dove into her financial career where she met a nice fellow named Jim Laubinger. They began working together on client projects which happily led to working together on life projects. After much discussion and excitement, Laubinger & Associates, LLC became an organic part of their journey.
After time with family and friends, and cheering on her two boys at the baseball fields, Kim enjoys traveling, trying out new group exercise classes, cycling outdoors, and taking in live music. She also serves on the Board for the Glen Ellyn Children's Resource Center.
